Day 9

Guess what?? Sudhir is talking in Tamil again!!! It is slowly coming out but Sudhir took me out yesterday and he was forced to talk to the driver as it was only the 2 of us. I get a good laugh watching him because I know he can do it, its only a matter of time before he really has it back. Grandpa is quite the babysitter. He watches the kids when we go out and about. One very nice thing about where we stay is that it is in a gated community. Its very small community but there are security guards to watch and this is the only place the kids can freely play. They don't even have that freedom back in the states. This is really the first time the kids have been able to freely roam without us having to worry about things to much. Today we met more Americans. A family a few houses down are from Omaha. Shalana has made friends with her 2 girls. It's kind of hard to explain but once you leave this gated community you are right in the city where the poor sell all their stuff. There are no parks here and not even any patches of grass so really this is the only place the kids can play. We are very lucky to stay here as I don't know what they would be doing if we were anywhere else. This is the only gated community here in all of Chennai, ( I am pretty sure) so we feel very fortunate. I will try to post everyday pics of the city later.
